It's Time To Turn Over A New Leaf

Hi there,

I'm welcoming you all to add your comments on my book. The book, "Japan on Foot: 7,494 Kilometres to Mu" is due to be published later this year. However, probably a lot of authors feel a little shaky like me prior to their "baby", especially their "first baby", being born.

I would love to rewrite Japan on Foot. I would love to completely rework it, reshape it, do something completely different with it. I feel that Japan on Foot should now be a completely different story. I believe that a book about the whole process of writing this book, and what it has cost me spiritually, emotionally and physically is a more dynamic story. But how do complete strangers (or friends) inter-relate with the text, with the story, with the heart and mind of my book? That, is something that presently intrigues me. So I'm throwing out an invitation to send me your feedback, your critique, your thoughts, your questions, anything.

In fact, I'm going to go a step further and invite you to even rewrite the book. Why not make this book somehow your journey too. As a guideline/timeline just check out the Japan on Foot photo calendar at Flickr, and ask yourself what was going on in your life at that time (or on any of those days in any year). Anyway, I leave the text to you to play with and share with others. It can take on any form that you wish. I'm inviting you to have fun with it.

If you are interested in taking part in this journey just drop me a line and I'll post some samples chapters to get you started. In the meantime, check out my web site and the main Japan on Foot blog. They are still in their early stages at the moment (rather like this blog) but bear with me.
